Tomas Sedlacek (1977) is a Chief Macroeconomic Strategist at ČSOB, one of the largest Czech banks. He is a member of a group Narrative of Europe commissioned by Manuel Barroso, EU commission president gathering thinkers, artists and scientists.
He worked as an economic advisor to President Václav Havel and latter to the Minister of Finance. Yale economicReview (2006) has ranked him among Five hot shots in Economics. He was a member of National Economic Council, advisory body to the prime minister and government, since its establishment in 2009 until 2013.
He is mainly known for Economics of Good and Evil, a book on philosophy of economics, an international bestseller, which received positive critics from academic as well as popular press (FT, NYT, Handelsblatt...). The book has received one of the most prestigious literary prices in economics, Frankfurt bookfair price for the best book on economics in 2012.
Tomas is a sought after lecturer, debater and commentator. He has co-published a number of books and articles.
