Manuel P. Nappo - Head of Center for Digital Business Zurich, Head of Studies, MAS Digital Business
Manuel P. Nappo was born in Zurich in 1971 and grew up in Ferrara, Italy. He returned to Switzerland in 1991 to study International Management at the University of St. Gallen (HSG). After working for companies including Red Bull and GroupM, Nappo launched his own branded entertainment agency, Creative Assets. In 2010, he was called to the University of Applied Sciences in Business Administration Zurich (HWZ) to contribute his broad knowledge, expertise and network to the field of new media. By January 2011, the concept for Switzerland’s first academic course of studies in CAS Social Media Management had been finalized.
The university started to expand its social media activities just one year later. In addition to his post as Director of Studies, Manuel P. Nappo also assumed the position of Head of Social Media Management. In 2013, Nappo launched CAS Mobile Business as part of the first Swiss MAS Digital Management programme at the HWZ. He has headed the MAS Digital Business programme as well as the newly established Center for Digital Business since 2014.
In addition to his post at HWZ, Manuel P. Nappo continues to work as a strategist, consultant and executive board member – for instance at the crowd-funding platform "C Crowd". He can draw from a wealth of entrepreneurial and multicultural experience. His main areas of activity are Social Media, Digital Communications, Mobile Business, Digital Transformation, Enterprise 3.0 as well as start-ups und Tech Innovation.
In 2013, he was awarded the accolade "Digital Pioneer of the Year" by IAB Switzerland for his contribution to digital education.
